HAYES FARM
Group Visits

Throughout the growing season we host a wide array of groups, including K-12 school classes, university students, Scouts and Girl Guide troops, community organizations and workplaces, and members of the Multicultural Association of Fredericton, among others.
Using our Teaching Gardens as the classroom, each group’s experience is tailored to ensure that participants not only gain practical skills but also leave with knowledge relevant to their specific interests, whether it’s understanding the basics of gardening, exploring advanced agricultural techniques, or learning about the cultural significance of food.
These visits are all offered on a pay-what-you-can basis to ensure everyone has an opportunity to participate in our local food system.
Tours will be adjusted depending on the time of year and what is active on-farm at the time.
Important Information
- We will need at least 1 week notice to prepare for your visit.
- Dogs must be kept on a leash and with their owner at all times
- At this time, we do not have the capacity to accommodate walk-in tours, anyone who has not made a tour booking will be asked to make one and return another day.
- Please park on the street
- The ground around our fields is very uneven, there are parts of the farm that are more accessible than others. We invite you to reach out in advance if you have mobility concerns so that we can help you have a safe and enjoyable tour.
- We have poultry on site – this may be very important for poultry farmers taking bio-control measures to prevent the spread of avian influenza.
- We provide education and engagement, but we are not able to provide childcare. Please make sure you have enough adults in your group to supervise minors.
- Make sure to let your tour guide know in advance if participants have any serious allergies or require accommodations.
- Washroom on-site is a composting toilet, hand washing can be done at outdoor sinks as well. At this time, unfortunately our washrooms are not accessible. We are working on improving our washroom facilities.
